The Iron County Historical & Museum Society and the Iron County Genealogical Society enjoy a special relationship. The archives in the Research Center at the Museum contain thousands of obituaries, family and individual biographies, oral histories, census records and so much more. Copies of The Iron County Reporter going back to 1927, the Crystal Falls newspaper, The Diamond Drill, on microfilm, donated yearbooks from local high schools and colleges, as well as genealogy books and more are housed here. A number of books written by local authors such as Frames for the Future, More Than Just a Farmer, From Pine to Popple, Jack Hill’s A History of Iron County and many others, contain a history of the area and are available to be purchased.

The Museum and Genealogy societies have collaborated over the years with “find a grave.com” as well. So, you see, the Museum and the Genealogical Societies have a symbiotic relationship. We invite you to use all the Museum’s resources when researching your family’s history.
