Those of you not in the U.P. may have missed all the recent media coverage about the new documentary, “Red Metal: The Copper Country Strike of 1913.” The film has already been shown at the Calumet Theatre and the Peter White Public Library and will be broadcast nationwide on PBS on December 17th. Here in Marquette it’s on from 8-9 pm but check
your local listings. For some reason, the Detroit PBS station has decided not to show it until January. I know at least two of our members have written books about the strike and the Christmas Eve Italian Hall Disaster so you may be interested in watching it.
