Doug Stanton and Jill Tewsley

We have some exciting news– NWS has a new executive director! Please help us in welcoming Jill Tewsley, who comes to us from the world of books at a time when the National Writers Series is growing and taking on new projects. We’ve come a long way since 2009, thanks to a great team of dedicated people who love books and great stories.
If you are around town, or in a library or a bookstore, and hear a fun, infectious laugh, it might be Jill; or, once (or if) she gets a break during the launch of our new season, you might see her at Wuerfel Park — she’s an avid baseball fan and cheers on the Tigers. Most of all, she loves books, loves getting to know writers, and she loves connecting them with you, our audiences.

Doug was in New York two weeks ago on a magazine assignment when he told people working in publishing that Jill was coming to Traverse City. They already knew of her and her two decades-long career working nationally with books and authors! There’s more news to follow, but we wanted to let you know about Jill now so you can say hi around town…in case the Tigers start to slip; or, in case you have a suggestion for an author to come to the grand Opera House stage in Traverse City. You can find all of us in our brand new office at 123 West Front Street, Traverse City, Michigan. See you somewhere with a good book!
